Last week we did the exercise ‘share the space with each other’ in my animal communication course. It was so touching to see what was revealed by being together without intention.

Being present with our animals is so valuable for us. Not only when we do it telepathically, but also when we consciously share time and space with them.
When we sit next to each other and don’t do or want anything, but just enjoy the moment and the connection.

Why don’t you try it out?

Sit or stand quietly next to your pet, just be with them and focus your attention on them, even if they leave your field of vision. Take a few deep breaths to centre and calm yourself and simply let all distractions flow away until you feel present. When thoughts come, notice them and let them pass like clouds in the sky. Stay present and calmly mindful of your pet.

Simply spend time gently observing, feeling, being with and appreciating your pet. Be open to every feeling and every perception of his or her physical, mental and spiritual sensations.

Your pet should not do anything. It can also leave your vicinity.
Just try to be with your pet without doing or planning anything else.
It’s also not about receiving anything from your pet.
Be aware when you are trying to figure things out, asking yourself something … these mental habits lead us out of the present again. Then gently bring your attention back to your animal and your being.
Relax your mind and see what might show up. What impulses and inspirations come when you are not actively thinking, but just being and letting it flow to you.
You can do this for longer or shorter periods of time, depending on what feels good for you and your pet.

You will feel how much your pet will appreciate this open and conscious presence and how your connection will change as a result.
