Do you know that look? That slightly worried, checking look that we automatically fix on our animal whenever they have an issue?

We observe every single step. Is he still limping? Is she getting up better today? Has the symptom changed? We do this out of pure, deep love. We want to help, we want to see progress.

But right here lies an energetic trap, which a dear client of mine put perfectly into words recently after a session for her dog Loucca. She wrote to me that she wondered what would happen if she just accepted Loucca exactly as he is right now. She asked herself if she might unconsciously be blocking things with her energy, her constant worries, and her expectations of progress, because as we know, energy flows where attention goes.

And you know what? She is absolutely right.

When we constantly observe our animal with a focus on their lack or their illness, we send out exactly that energy: worry, pressure, expectation. Our animal feels this permanent, controlling gaze. They feel that we are resisting what is happening in the present moment.

The principle is very similar to the glasses of old age that I told you about in my last newsletter regarding my Maja. When we wear the glasses of illness or worry, we do not allow the animal to simply exist in the here and now. We energetically lock them into the role of the patient.

Healing often happens exactly when we take the pressure out. When we say: Okay, right now this is just how it is. And I love you exactly like this. I do not expect any progress from you today.

The moment Loucca’s human decided to change her focus, the energy was allowed to flow again. Where a rigid desire for improvement had previously blocked things, space for natural change suddenly opened up again. Trust returns to the animal’s body and to the flow of life.

Our animals are our greatest mirrors. They challenge us daily to look at our own fears and control issues, to heal them, and to practice what is probably the hardest discipline of all, which is letting go.

So today, I would like to give you a small impulse for the near future: Where are you looking just a little too closely at your animal right now? Where are you worrying or impatiently expecting a change?

Try to consciously take off those glasses of worry for the next few days. Look at your animal and do not see the problem, but the wonderful soul standing in front of you. Accept them exactly as they show themselves today. And then see what happens when the energy between you can flow completely freely again.

From heart to heart, Tanja
